We are constantly evaluating new and proven technologies in order to offer the best possible experience to our patients. One of the more remarkable advances in dentistry is the marriage of 3D optical scanning with the CAD/CAM fabrication of dental restorations. We have been using Cerec imaging and milling technology for almost two years, and we have all been thrilled with the beautiful restorations we are able to deliver in just ONE VISIT. Now, the best of dentistry has gotten even better. Introducing our new Cerec Omnicam. This upgraded digital 3D camera is about half the size of the original, and no longer requires the messy blue powder spray before imaging. While the old camera took 3 or 4 pictures which it stitched together, the Omnicam takes 19 images per second! This video feed is used to produce 3 dimensional virtual models for us to use when designing your restorations. Another upgrade is our ability to now fabricate bridges and implant abutments as well as crowns, inlays and onlays! This is a significant advance in the state of the art of technology that will let us complete implant restorations a full month faster! Dr. Forgosh continues to actively pursue advanced education in all aspects of the new Cerec Omnicam so you can realize the full potential of this incredible piece of equipment.
