Same Day Dental Crowns in Allentown PA

When decay or fracture has destroyed a tooth’s ability to withstand normal functional forces, we are able to restore it to its original form (or better) using a dental crown, or cap. A crown replaces the outer layer of a tooth with high strength porcelain, gold, or a combination of materials depending on your specific needs. Once the dental crown is cemented in place, it imparts tremendous strength to the underlying tooth. Our crowns are specially designed to withstand the tremendous pressure generated by your chewing muscles. Our ceramists are so skilled in their craft of building life-like crowns and bridges that after they are bonded in place, you may not be able to tell which tooth was treated.
Usually, when a tooth crown is placed, the dentist makes a mold of your tooth. This mold is sent away to a laboratory where the permanent crown is designed to exactly match the original contours of the tooth. This can take a few days, leaving you with a temporary crown and the necessity of returning to the dentist to have the permanent dental crowns placed. With CEREC, Dr. Forgosh takes very precise measurements of your tooth and enters these measurements into the CEREC system. A porcelain “blank” is then milled to match the contours of your tooth without having to send a mold or measurements to an offsite lab. When the restoration is finished, Dr. Forgosh can place it immediately, make any necessary alterations, bond the restoration and send you on your way with a new, perfectly contoured tooth crown. cerec crowns allentown pa
